Stage 2: Learn to PLAY Phase.

Late Elementary: 3rd - 5th Grades (Males 9-11, Females 8-10)

Our objectives are to further develop FMS skills but really start to focus on Functional Sport Skills (FSS). The SMASH Zone, as we call it, we focus our attention on stability, mobility, agility, balance, coordination and speed. Sessions are once per week, 90 minutes in duration. Each session is broken in six different stations focusing on improving different skills necessary to growing overall athletic development and hone their golf skills.

Semesters are broken into four different SMASH Zones, each a different theme. Each Zone is three weeks long, the fourth week takes the kids onto the course where the priority of rules, safety and etiquette will be introduced. At this stage we also include one on one instruction where we can really start to individualize their swings.

The first week and last week of each semester will assess the kids movement and golf skills. They will graduate through the levels as their skills improve. (Our graduated levels are similar to the coloured belt system in martial arts.)
